Skype has been the in thing lately and everyone you know nowadays uses it. The first thing when we speak to a new person the question about your skype id is raised. Skype is a software through which you can make free phone calls to people in any part of the world.

Skype was acquired by eBay this year and it has grown a lot in popularity ever since. Skype uses 256-bit encryption and is pretty secure.

Skype works on wideband codecs which will allow you to keep decent sound quality at a bandwidth of 32kb/s and which works on 5-8,000Hz frequency.

There are not many companies as good as Aridine when it comes to Document Management Softwares. Aridine works to enhance customer service operations, eliminate costly paper-based processes, improve internal and external communications or streamline productivity enterprise wide.

Aridine’s flagship product is Infusion, there are although various types under this, Infusion Scan, Infusion Coversheet, Infusion Instant Import, Infusion Tiff Printer and Infusion Zone(OCR).

Infusion Scan has the ability to save documents as multi-page documents, scan in black and white, grayscale, and color depending upon the scanner you choose to use, whereas Infusion Coversheet gives the user the ability to quickly scan small or large amounts of paper based documents into Infusion.

In the wake of the touchscreen iPod delay, Apple will be launching new 8GB and 10GB iPod nanos in the summer.

Munster’s reasoning is that, as the touchscreen iPod will likely not now appear until next year, Apple needs to launch something eye-catching in time for the lucrative run-up to Christmas – and bigger capacity nanos fit the bill nicely.

Apple itself has hinted that iPod prices are due for a spot of pruning. “We expect [the average iPod selling price] to be down a little bit in the June quarter,” said CFO Peter Oppenheimer recently. Reading between the lines, this doesn’t necessarily mean that iPod prices will drop, but that Apple could be predicting increased sales of the cheaper Shuffle and nano models.

Welcome to the world of flash storage products, where everything gets smaller and smaller, faster and faster, and everybody just goes with the flow. Smaller phones, smaller screens, in a few words, smaller devices. But don’t forget the performance, because it doesn’t tend to get reduced too. Facing the technology trend, Kingmax released a super-mini-micro flash drive stick.

The Super Stick weighs only five grams and measures 39×12x2 mm. The size may somehow have its disadvantages, because the Super Stick might get lost very
fast in your pockets, or, who knows, in somebody else’s pocket.

The tiny gadget is based on the microSD technology, dubbed as the smallest flash memory on the market, close in size to the RSMMC technology. The stick uses USB 2.0 interface and offers really good transfer speeds: 20 MB/s, both writing and reading. The capacities of the Super Stick range from the entry-level 256 MB to the “too big for its size” 2GB.

The tiny device is also waterproof and can retain data up to 10 years, the company claims. Pricing details have not been published yet.

High definition television and recorders begin to spread, and the war between Blu-Ray and HD DVD doesn’t seem to end so soon. As high definition content requires lots of storage, the need for high storage capacity media arises.

Imation announced that its development of HD DVD and Blu-Ray recordable media has reached the final state. The company plans to use a scratch-resistant coating in the development of both formats, to better protect the discs.

Imation is a member of the Blu-Ray Disc Association (BDA), but announced it will provide HD DVD writable
optical media as well.

During 2006, the company will launch rewritable and recordable Blu-Ray media formats, both 25 GB single layer and 50 GB double layer. Also, HD DVD recordable and rewritable media, single layer 15 GB and double layer 30 GB are planned.

Optware announced for 2006 their first generation of HVD (Holographic Versatile Disc) disc. The holographic disc optical storage technology allows capacities of up to 1TB of data in a device the size of a classic DVD.

Iomega announced two new mini hard drives, Micro Mini Hard Drive, with 4 GB and 8 GB storage capacities. Both products feature the “Drop Shock” technology which makes them less prone to shock damage and, to some extent, turns them into an alternative to flash based drives.

Iomega Micro Mini Hard Drive is a device that weighs around 50 grams and has a striking resemblance to a credit card. The 4200 RPM (Rotations Per Minute) hard drive connects through USB 2.0 for high speed connectivity. The need for a separate USB cable is eliminated by the foldable built in USB connector.

Also,
the Micro Mini Hard Drive draws its power through the computer’s USB 2.0 port and works immediately because it is a Plug and Play device.

The gadget comes with bundled software packs. Iomega Automatic Backup/ Backup Pro (Mac/PC version) allows continuous real time backup and recovery for critical data with encryption and file compression. Musicmatch Jukebox offers music management and Adobe Photoshop Album SE provides support for digital photos.

Iomega Micro Mini Hard Drive will be available for US$129 (the 4 GB model) and US$169 USD (the 8 GB version).

To unlock your iPod’s full potential, you’ll need to install the iPodLinux operating system on your player. The iPod Linux Project is an ever-evolving, community-developed assortment of applications, games, and other goodies that run on the iPodLinux operating system.

In short, the iPodLinux OS will turn your iPod into a dual-boot entertainment center packed with video, audio, games, and other apps.
